Happy Brithday!

HAPPY BIRHTDAY MARCUS!

Wow time goes by so fast I can't believe my "baby" is 3 years old.  It's totally cliche that everyone says that  when you have kids time goes by so fast blah blah blah...but it really does!

Now that Marcus is 3 he is talking quite a bit and he starting to say some pretty funny stuff.  He loves sports and actually has to change clothes several times a day to match the sport he is now playing.  He's getting pretty into cars now too and will actually do that by himself so I get a break!  He loves to help especially in the kitchen with anything that we are making.  He is so sweet with his brother and loves to give him kisses.  He loves to learn and is so smart he know his numbers and most of his letters.  He has a tender heart and is a good sharer.  He loves to play all day especially with other kids.  He loves to pray and they are always very sincere.

We are so lucky that he joined our family 3 years ago and we love him so much...Happy Birthday Marcus!

Thanksgiving

We had a great Thanksgiving in Alamosa this year.  Yes it was a terribly long drive with 2 little ones but actually Luke did great it's the terrible 2 year old that made our trip long.

We actually had a pretty big Thanksgiving dinner at my Grandparents house; 21 people ate a absolutely delicious dinner.  It was so yummy it makes me hungry just thinking about it.  Then on Friday the girls of the family made a star craft thingy and it turned out so cute.  I forgot my scrap booking paper so I helped my mom make one as a Christmas gift.

Then that night we celebrated Marcus' 3rd Birthday.  Of course we forgot our camera but I think that night was the best night of Marcus' short life.  He loved every second of it from running around with little cousin Kennedi to opening presents and of course blowing out trick candles. He was running around like a crazy man the whole night.  He couldn't even go to sleep that night because he was so excited and the next day he asked if it was his birthday again.

Thanks everyone who came and made it such a great night for him.  He Loved all his presents and still talks about his Birthday.

TRICK or TREAT!

Halloween already came and went  and I can't believe it. It's so fun having kids and when they get to that age of getting excited about holidays is so awesome I love it!  Marcus thinks that this is the best holiday ever!  He loves to dress up and all that candy is to die for.  With candy in the house he becomes this crazy whinny monster but it can also be a pretty good bribe too.  Here's some pics of the Friday down town trick or treating and our church trunk or treat...

We are ALIVE!

Yes we are alive here in Nebraska.  I'm sure so many of you were wondering...but alas I have now had the motivation to post some updates.

Luke aka Luke the Poop or Lukesters - doing great.  He had a fever last week so I took him in and he now weighs in at a whole 17.2 lbs.  He's a chubbers and it's so cute I love his legs and give them kisses all the time.  I think that he'll pass up Marcus eventually because I don't think at 7 months M weighed in at 17 lbs.  He is 7 months but sometimes I think he's still in his newborn phase...especially at night.  He is a bad sleeper but the past 2 night he's only woke up once and that's a reason to celebrate (while knocking on wood).  Trust me you out there saying just let him cry... he has tried to cry it out, how about 2 weeks straight with 1 to 2 hrs each night with no end in site ...crying makes for a super tired and cranky momma after that long. Other than the lack of sleep he's more content while awake.  He not really motivated to roll over (while he can do it) or sit up but we "work out" everyday so hopefully one day he'll just decide to do it.  He is a smiley baby and loves to smile at other people.

Marcus - he's just up to something always that's for sure.  He's still in to his sports and I get a workout in everyday.  (I can't wait until Luke can keep up)  He's so funny he loves to play and watch sports on TV but he hates going to games live except football.  He says they are too loud and covers his ears.  Marcus is talking a good deal now but sometimes I just nod and say ok because he's still hard to understand.  I'll probably regret this one day as he will be asking me some crazy thing.  He knows all his shapes and colors and can count to 10 and now we are working on our ABC's.  He loves to say all the prayers in our house and they are so sweet ad simple.  He has a ton of friends and loves to play with other kids. He is not potty trained  yet I tried a couple months ago but it was a no go so hopefully in the next month I can get up enough patience and courage to try again.  Any pointers are greatly appreciated!

This summer Aaron and I really just got used to a house with 2 kids it's been an adjustment.  I'm ready for more sleep and Aaron's probably ready for a non cranky wife.  But it's coming around  and getting routine but I'm not looking forward to the cold and flu months coming up ahead.  Hopefully we can keep mr. Luke heathly.  Well I'll post some pics to catch us up and then try to be better at this blogging.

Camera dead pictures coming soon...

Luke & Marcus Happenings

First I'll update you on Luke...He had his 4 month appointment a week and a half ago and his stats are: 12lbs and 23 inches long.  He's growing like a weed and has cute chubby cheeks and rolls on his legs to boot.  He doesn't look like a typical 4 month old but doesn't look like a preemie either.  I would say he looks like a healthy 3 month old.  The doc was really impressed with his growth and thinks that he may catch up to what he should be at sooner than most preemies.  He's smiling quite often now and even some cooing and some giggles here and there.  He 's getting more on a schedule and is having less cranky time and more having fun time.

We were able bless Luke last Sunday in Sterling CO and we had alot of our family attend.  I was pretty nervous that he would cry the whole time but he cried just a little....it could've been much worse believe me.  We had a wonderful lunch and it was great to see family and friends in sterling.  Thanks to all those who came to celebrate our special little guy.

Marcus has been on the go all summer long.  He's gotten to see family a ton this summer which I'm super happy about.  On the 4th of July we went down to Alamosa to stay with my family and help celebrate my mom's big birthday.  On the way we stayed in Longmont and Marcus had so much fun with one of his favorite cousins, Lil Aaron. Marcus then stayed all that next week with the grandparents in Alamosa and had a good time swimming, seeing alligators and getting grandpa & grandma tired.

Marcus is such a sweet boy but has definitely gotten into being a typical 2 year old.  He has an opinion about everything and "gets" to go into time out almost everyday and he is getting pretty good and being whinny too.  He still our little athlete and loves playing almost any sport.  His vocabulary is expanding and getting some attitude to go with it!

I don't have any updated pics but believe me they both look like Aaron and I think that Luke will even have his daddy's blue eyes.  Everyone says that Luke looks just like Aaron did and like Marcus too.. so he's bound to be a cutie like his daddy and brother.

We sure do love our boys and thank our Heavenly Father for our two beautiful boys who are healthy and relatively happy.

My boys are sure lucky to have such a great dad.  They are so excited when he comes home to play with them.  He is so loving and works so hard for us.  Thanks Aaron for all you do!  Also thanks to my Dad who was my # 1 Fan and to Aaron's Dad thanks for raising such a wonderful man.  Also thanks to all the other men in our lives for all you've done for us.  We love you!

Updates!

Wow...it seems like I just posted but I guess it has been awhile.  Anyways we've had a fairly busy month. Marcus and Aaron were gone for Memorial day to Longmont to hang out with all the family there.  Marcus has a blast with all of his cousins.  He then stayed with Grandpa & Grandma P in Sterling the next week.  And Aaron picked him up the next weekend again in Longmont  and spent the weekend with all the cousins. I then went to  A-town to my 10 year reunion with little Luke.  I can't believe that it's been 10 years but at the same time it seems like a lifetime ago.  How crazy how things change.  Luke did awesome on the way there and back.  But a 9 hour drive with a baby by yourself is pretty crazy...I was more tired when I got home than when I left.

Luke went to the Doctor last Monday and he weighs in at 10.1 lbs and  is 21.5 inches long. He's doing pretty good.  This week he has slept much better and is even a little less fussy : )   He is even smiling now which is so fun and makes it all worth it!  Marcus is now into baseball and we play almost everyday.  I think that when a sport is in season he loves it.  But we can always fall back to football if he gets bored.

Here's some recent pics of the boys.

I tried forever to get these next pics to turn around...it's saved on my computer correctly but loads into blogger wrong...if you know how to fix it let me know! :)

Little Buddies!

I walk out this is what I see...so sweet.  I love it and I love my boys!

Luke had a Dr's appointment on Thursday and now he weighs in a 8.8.  He's in the 70th percentile in weight and 60th for height (in preemies).   He is pretty much out of newborn clothes and is getting cute little rolls on his legs.  The Dr said that he probably doesn't have reflux and it just from the medicine that he is on for sleep apnea.  It's breaks down to caffeine so no wonder why he doesn't sleep.  He will have to be one it at least one more month and cross our fingers he can come  off of it and sleep a little more at night.

Like Father Like Son!

Aaron got a couple of presents for Marcus recently and thought I would post a few pcitures because if you know Aaron then you know of his love for shoes and Michael Jordan.

An Update from US!

Here's an update from us...Luke is eating sleeping and pooping and Marcus is running around with energizer batteries that keep on going and going and going.

Well the more detailed version of events around our house are... Luke is now 7 weeks old today.  Wow time flies when you don't get any sleep.  Last Saturday he weighed in at a whooping 7 lbs 11 ounces.  That's actually a pretty good weight gain for a boy who started out so tiny.  We think that Luke has some reflux but right now the doctors want to hold off on any medicine to see how well he does and if it doesn't get any worse.  I feel so bad for the little guy as it seems he is pretty uncomfortable and not sleeping the greatest.  Marcus caught a cold last week so Luke has been in his own little isolation to make sure that he doesn't catch it.  Marcus is almost over it so soon he a Luke will be reunited.  Poor Marcus has been pretty sad that he can't see or hold the baby but a sick preemie baby is one thing we don't need.  Marcus as I said earlier is on the go almost all day.  He's been pretty good with me having to take care of Luke but that's probably because he gets to watch a little more TV than usual.  Well here's some updated pics from us...

Marcus loves the baby and to give him kisses on the head.

Marcus loves to help dad and mom cook it up in the kitchen.

He's here!

Luke William Prestwich
March 12, 2010
4lbs 5oz
17.5 inches

Luke is doing great!  He is off all breathing help and even eating all on his own now.  We are so blessed to have this little guy.  He is so sweet and a fighter!  This has been one of the longest weeks of my life.  It started out badly (going into labor 7 weeks early) to  being one of the greatest.  Being a mother is the biggest blessing a woman can have and I feel that I will never take it for granted again.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

A pic of my boys!
